Submission to IEEE TAS or IEEE TQE

Authors who have made a presentation at WOLTE16 have the opportunity to prepare a manuscript for submission for peer review to either the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (TAS) or the IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering (TQE).

Access: TAS is "Green Open Access" and TQE is "Gold Open Access"

Manuscript submission should be done no later than 1 September 2024 and it is recommended that it be within 2 weeks of that deadline, not sooner. The submission must be within the scope of each journal as described on their respective websites.

With a sufficient number of submissions from WOLTE to each of these journals, the papers would be grouped together in a "Special Issue" for TAS and with a "Special code" referring to WOLTE16 for TQE (since TQE is published continuously). As "Gold Open Access" submissions to TQE, when accepted, require a payment of an "APC" (Article Processing Charge) by the author or their institution (for example through a possible "read-and-publish" agreement). However, as part of initiatives of the IEEE Council on Superconductivity (CSC) to encourage and promote the field of Quantum Information Science within IEEE, there will be the option to have the "APC" covered by CSC if the author does not have ready access to funds and/or if their institution does not have a "read-and-publish" agreement with IEEE. Requests to "APC" waivers may be submitted to the WOLTE16 Program Chair, Oleg Mukhanov, (omukhanov@seeqc.com) and will be given full consideration and a prompt response. Submissions to TAS do not require any author payment unless the author wishes to make them available on an Open Access basis. In such a case a similar option may be offered by CSC. As "Green Open Access" authors of TAS articles may post their accepted but pre-final-IEEE-formatting version of their manuscript on their own or their institution's website.
